Life is Wonderful

We said Good-bye to Penedo this AM around 9:30. I admit that I cried as we left and as we drove passed Resende. We arrived in Rio in time for lunch. We’ll be here with our friends till our departure Thursday night. This song played on the radio during the 2h drive and Jason Mraz’s albums have become my new soundtrack for this moment in my life. I am not a song writer and I am not trying to emulate Mraz’s style, but these would be the lyrics that I would add to his song…

it takes an adventure to come home to
it takes leaving to grow
it takes meeting new people to be understanding
it takes some understanding to be patient
it takes going without to appreciate
it takes change to open your world
it takes a new language to become more humble
it takes seeing the world to build tolerance

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

We saw Jason Mraz shortly after we got married. Almost four years ago. AMAZING live. That skinny little white boy sure can put on a show.

It takes the dust to have it polished 🙂

The lyrics are beautiful. Maybe you should look into song writing. 🙂

This lyric stood out the most ‘it takes going without to appreciate’. I guess you could say that I have learned the hard way. How very true, though.

As always I am moved by your words. Thank you!
