Day 8 : AEDM – Thanksgiving Preparations

Today was a relaxing overcast weekend day. We had a bit of down time in the morning, and went for a walk in our old neighborhood in Paris 15ème before lunch. Then we got together with family visiting from Marseilles, and cousins living in Paris for an afternoon at the park l’Île St. Germain which is always a treat!
Here are the boys driving the fire-truck :

At the end of this month, it’s Thanksgiving (Nov. 26). It is not a holiday we celebrate here in France, but I think it is a holiday that can apply to all people everywhere – to be thankful and count your blessings is not something reserved solely for Americans, and Native Americans. We all have reasons to give thanks.

I made this card for this the eight day of Art Every Day Month that I will send for the holiday. It is a surprise for the person receiving it of course, so I won’t say who it is for here. Thibault helped me make it. We traced his hand to make the body of the turkey and I added feathers, beak and feet. I think it looks pretty cute! Inside the words read “Thinking so many thoughts of you from too many miles away- And wishing that we were together to share Thanksgiving Day!”
