Day 9 : AEDN – Holiday Window Shopping

Monday, having the habit

of being the day

that it is, launching us

(unwillingly) into the days

to come in the week

ahead, one can not

request too much on the

agenda for this globe-trotting

mother of two! I had to

catch up on my daily

duties today (the pile of

ironing is tickling

the ceiling!), which I

seem to have neglected

with this month’s challenge!

Oops. As a result,

for this ninth day

of Art Every Day Month,

I did not “make art” today.

But I do have this

‘picture poem’ to share.

This morning I took

the boys out to see

the shop windows of

Galeries Lafayette all

‘dressed-up’  for the

holidays! We took the

Métro, which we

don’t usually take.

Thibault liked going through

the dark tunnels and

coming out with

all the lights of

each station.

We got on

at Balard, and

off at Opéra.

then we walked

to the store

and looked at each

of the windows to

see the bears dance and

the glitter sparkle.

Damien liked

all the twinkle and

Thibault liked all

the animation. His

favorite scene was

the one where

all the bears

were at the table

ready to “manger!”

After saying

“bye-bye” to the

bears and the dolls

and the gingerbread-men

we went inside

to see the big

Christmas tree in the

center of the store!

We got into

the holiday season

with all the decorations

we saw at

the department store.

Then we took

the Métro back, from

Opéra to Balard

and Thibault kicked

the leaves on the walk home.
