Family Fun at the Fête Foraine

Since Wednesday, there has been a fête foraine, a funfair going on in our small town. Originally these traveling carnivals took place before the Lenten season in the Catholic church, though today, carnivals have taken on a informal meaning, and so even now, during Lent, funfairs take place in towns all over France.

So today, on its last day we decided to take the boys. We were able to walk there which is always a treat – I love living close to things we can walk to (fair, school, library, church, grocery, park…)

The boys had a blast. They rode on the manège (merry-go-round) twice – a first for Damien! and Thibault went fishing for frogs and won a car. He was pretty excited! We also snacked on your typical carnival sweets, pomme d’amour (candied apples) and barbe à papa (cotton candy)! It was a great time, we had beautiful weather and the boys were super tired when we got home. Bathtime, dinnertime, bedtime went by without a hitch! A perfect way to end this perfect weekend that we had…
